Monmouthshire Wheelers has been set up by an enthusiastic group of road cyclists in South East Wales who enjoy the hours spent every week rolling along some of the most beautiful roads in the UK.
We started off as a few local people who wanted to go for a ride and things went from there. Soon friends of friends were turning up on a Sunday morning and after a few runs we established Monmouthshire Wheelers Cycling Club.
The club currently exists for social purposes, so if you fancy a leisurely ride with like-minded people you are welcome to join us.
We have a Sunday morning run that is the centre of the groups’ enjoyment and attention. As a new club the rides and standards are casual and we hope this will appeal to everyone. Most club runs are between 40 and 50 miles and include the all important coffee and cake – our rides are by no means punishing for members – it is about having a good laugh and getting some miles down in the process.
Number permitting we sometimes split into two groups allowing people to choose their speeds, and as always nobody ever gets left behind.
Also, club members tend to ride their own routes midweek and often share this with others to allow them to join. We can be found on Strava and Facebook through our relevant social media links.
If you would like to join us for a spin one day feel free to contact the Captain!
